Hi, We are trying to see if there is a way to manage Officials, Umpires, Referee availability and selection through Teamo against games.
I reluctant to create duplicate games in the system just for umpires etc but maybe that is what we have to do? Anyone else have ideas?

I will add this to the feature request list!

All my scorers and umpires are members of the main team. They then sign up to games in the same way that the players do. However, as an admin, you can tap on a person and then select "Edit Event Role". Then select "Official". It will ask you whether you want that to be their default role.
You can only see them if you toggle the "View Officials" button allllllll the way at the bottom of the availabilities, then go allllllll the way to the top again to be able to see the available ones. But they are selectable and are not included in match fees. However, because they are not part of the "team" they can't be included in team chats in Teamo, which is not great if you are using it to provide additional info about a game. It's not perfect and there are things that I would tweak, but it works for us.

It would certainly help if umpires COULD be managed through teamo - but yes, the issues with their classification and how they are recorded on a match - dont necessarily want them to be part of matchday chats etc and on squad lists. We pay our umpires £15 a game, so if it was possible to credit their teamo accounts also after a game in recompense, that would be magic!

City of Bath Hockey Club, yes we are going to use the credit system too to manage umpire payments

City of Bath Hockey Clubyou can credit in app already but you can’t withdraw money so it only works for people who earn less than they pay

We have the same issue with keepers. They make themselves available for the squad that they are in and we have to assume that they may be able to play other games as well.
I would like to be able for certain classes of people to say, “I am available for any match on this date” or “I am available for home games on this date”.
Then you should be able to view availability for groups of people (umpires, GKs, for example) and draft allocate them to matches.
People should be able to see what is proposed and agree or disagree with it. “Sorry, I’m not qualified to umpire that game.”

Deborah Evelynon event use the option to enter text when marking available. Then if they can’t make certain games they enter that there

We have been chatting to the support guys about this as well.
You should be able to do this by changing a persons role by default and then just ensure they are invited to the relevant game. However we are still working with the support team to sort this out as - there might be an issue if a coach is a guardian etc. Anyway a good shout as should be really easy and would help a lot in being able to ensure that coaches, managers, first aids etc are invited to games and not their availability accordingly. Generally we don't manage umpires in Teamo, its too complex and we're also planning weeks in advance and working around pool assignments both into the club and with our umpires doing pool assignments. A google spreadsheet seems to work best

A quick workaround.
Have an umpire ‘team’ in teamo
Create a team chat for that group.
You can then use a weekly poll to ask for availability for games.
List appointments in same chat
Once appointments are made you can then also add and then select them to the match they are umpiring as an official

Thanks all, we are currently whatsapp poll each week but kind of wanted to be a bit more smarter and umpires could look ahead several weeks instead of waiting for the weekly poll to turn up
